Our classrooms offer Watch Me Grow for parents who want to be able to view their child/children’s day. We also use Tadpoles technology to send daily reports of your child’s day to our parents. It is our objective to help our parents feel more connected than ever, giving them security and peace of mind.
Communication With Our Director
The director is available daily by phone, or you may contact via email at pcdayschool@sbcglobal.net.
Families can assist and help ensure a smooth transition by doing the following:
- Sign children in and out daily and escort them to their designated class.
- You should never leave your child alone in the classroom or anywhere in the school.
- Supervise your children at all times while escorting them inside the School and in the parking.
- Have all forms completed promptly.
- Update forms, as needed, when changes occur (phone number, address, etc.)
- Keep an adequate change of clothes in your child’s cubby.
- Make sure your child’s classroom has diapers and wipes. We cannot borrow from another child.
- Make sure your child’s immunization record is up-to-date.
- Notify the school if your child is ill or if your child will be absent.
- Please notify the school if you will be late when arriving and picking up.
- Provide two changes of clothes marked with your child’s name. This request is for all ages.
- Please change your child’s clothing seasonally to accommodate the changes in weather and the growth of your child.
- Children should be dressed properly for the weather and must participate in all class activities.
- Please do not allow your child to bring in toys in the classroom.
- Jewelry, bracelets, necklaces, and dangling earrings are not allowed. These items could be broken during activities, and the pieces would then pose a choking hazard for our children.
PCDS has a scheduled Parent-Teacher Conference once a year. However, Parent-Teacher Conferences may be scheduled at any time during the school year at the request of the parent or teacher. Arrangements should be made directly with the teacher. If you have any concerns with your child’s classroom or teacher, please talk directly with the teacher. Our preference is for the teachers and parents to keep an open line of communication and work together to solve any issues.
Ideas and Suggestions
Park Cities Day School has an open-door policy; parents have the opportunity to visit the school at any time during the hours of operation to observe their child and program activities without prior approval. We are always open to your input. Our goal is to team up with our families to make Park Cities Day School the best it can be.
Checking With Your Child’s Teacher
