PCDS is open Monday through Friday, 12 months per year, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Since we are licensed only for specific hours of operation, no early drop-off or late pick-up can be allowed.

Inclement Weather Closures

PCDS takes into consideration several factors when making a judgment as to whether we will open late or close early due to inclement weather. We do our own assessment of the conditions, including local authority recommendations, school districts, local road conditions, and forecasted temperatures. Parents will receive an automated notification from PCDS when the school is not open.

Arrival, Departure & Release

We recommend all children arrive by 9:00 am. Morning activities will begin at this time, and this will help your child fully participate in group activities. The school must be contacted if your child will be arriving after their classroom morning group. An adult must escort all children into their classroom. Please note that if your child arrives after the scheduled breakfast or lunchtime, we will not be able to provide this service.

Departure & Release

To pick up a child from PCDS, an adult must come into the building, sign the child out, and let the teacher be aware of your presence. Parents must supervise their children at all times after leaving the classroom, both inside the building and in the parking lot. We will not release a child unless we have your permission. The person picking up your child will be asked for proper identification in the form of a picture ID, which will be photocopied and kept on file with the school. The name must match the name on the child’s emergency form. Also, we will not release a child to anyone who is or appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
